Will Writing

We believe that writing a Will is one of the most important things you can do, as it allows you to have your affairs in order for the people you care about, even when you’re no longer here.

Why do I need a will?

  • You decide who will care for your children, dependants or pets
  • Give special sentimental possessions to specific friends or family, who would otherwise not receive anything
  • Prevent family disputes by making your wishes clear
  • Range of payment methods available to cater to your needs
  • Ensure that appropriate measures are in place for your finances
  • Avoid confusion as to who will need to administer your estate at a stressful time of need

Updating your will

Our opinions, priorities and goals change every day. Adolescents want clothes, cars and time to hang out with their friends. Young workers are hungry for careers, money and respect. Retiring folk want peace, quiet and a comfortable place to relax.

As we move forward in life, change is inevitable. Times change, people change, situations change. You won’t have control over all these changes, but you can make sure your Will remains updated accordingly.

Ensuring your Will is up to date can be just as important as writing it in the first place. Although your Will may have been perfectly accurate at the time you created it, instances such as divorce, marriage, death, birth, or changes in financial situation, can render your Will outdated.

The best way to ensure your Will accurately reflects your current wishes is by reviewing it at least once a year, as well as in the aftermath of any major family event (marriage/funeral/divorce/birth/death etc).

For minor changes, you will be charged a small fee to amend your Will. For more significant changes, it can often be much easier to start your Will again from scratch. By signing a new Will or updated Will, all previous Wills automatically become redundant. Nevertheless, destroying the old Will is recommended as to help avoid confusion.
